PUMPKIN CARVING Please join us for pumpkin carving on Sunday, October 23rd in Fellowship Hall following worship service. Bring your own perfect Halloween pumpkin and a snack to share. The Fellowship Ministry will provide lunch and carving tools.
YOUTH NEWS Make a Duct Tape Wallet Middle and High School youth we'll be meeting on Wednesday, Oct 26 from 6:00 - 7:30 to make duct tape wallets. We'll have the supplies and teach you how to make one. Make one for yourself or give it as a gift. Friends are welcome! Hope to see you there!

SEARCHING FOR THE BEST BARS EVER FOR EMPTY BOWLS 2011 DATE: NOVEMBER 13, 2011 We know you have them!!!!! Food sensitivity has doubled in the last two years in Oshkosh and we are hoping to make some financial contributions to Oshkosh Area Food Pantries with an evening of Empty Bowls. We know you have some very special bar recipes and we are searching for a donation of 3 dozen of your BEST bars to serve as part of the menu for Empty Bowls. To help, the bars need to be: 1. Pre-cut, covered and on disposable plates or containers. If you are willing we would love the recipe for your bars as well. 2. If you are willing to be part of this community effort, please email Sue Heft at sheft@new.rr.com or call her at 231-1424. GLORIA! Mark Your calendar to be here Saturday evening, October 29, for the most glorious concert ever presented in the 100 history of our sanctuary! TONIGHT! (in the Sanctuary) October 20th at 7:30 p.m., the Oshkosh North High School String and Symphony Orchestras will be performing a Concert of Remembrance, honoring and acknowledging individuals and events surrounding significant dates and milestones in our history, including the 10th anniversary of September 11th, Veterans Day, and the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. Everyone is welcome to come join the Oshkosh North Orchestra students and their director, Yukiko Grine, to experience music that depict aspects of war, peace, and hope. Olivia Seeley 9th grade from our church is playing!
GALLERY WALK and CONCERT! On Saturday November 5th First Congregational Church will be hosting Gallery Walk as part of our Centennial Celebration. Marty Robinson & Friends will be playing jazz sets from six until nine in our beautiful sanctuary. We will also be serving sweets and beverages in the narthex for all to enjoy while you listen to the music. Bring your friends and family for a great night out. Donations are appreciated
Save the Date! EMPTY BOWLS 2011
November 13, 2011 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Becket's 501 City Center, Oshkosh, WI Empty Bowls is a nation-wide, grass roots movement designed to benefit local food pantries. Local artists create ceramic bowls, which are used to serve a simple meal of soup and bread. Soups are donated by area restaurants. Local bakers bake artisan breads. Guests select a bowl for their meal and are allowed to keep the bowl as a reminder of hunger in our community. Gift Baskets featuring ceramic pieces and artisan breads will also be available along with this year’s edition of painted chairs and quilts. The event will take place at Becket’s at City Center, Oshkosh. All proceeds go to the food pantries of Oshkosh. Tickets are $28 for a bowl and meal ($25 if purchased in advance$15 for the meal only, and $10 for a child 12 & under.
