Sunday's Service: January 29

This Sunday we have a three-word one-liner . . . Let Justice Roll.  Come to hear Psalm 15 in the original Hebrew, read it yourself in English, and then hear a poet's translation of this striking song that can be heard as a "voter's guide" to the elections before us.  Intrigued?   Worship includes a video of grade school children reciting portions of what surely is the most stirring and pivotal sermon ever given in our nation's history.  The silence of the singing bowl, hymns of hope, the chancel choir, prayers of the people . . . Come to worship!

In Our Prayers

FINANCIAL WELL-BEING Presenter: Terri Horner from FISC / Goodwill Industries)

The holidays are over and some people are now beginning the new year in debt. Even if they didn’t overspend during the holidays, plenty of people these days are finding themselves on a tighter-than-ever budget. And financial difficulties have a way of affecting so many other aspects of our lives. But there are simple ways to be financially healthy even if we can’t increase the size of our paycheck.  This morning, a counselor from FISC  (Financial Information & Service Center), a program of Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin, will be here to share with us what some of those ways might be and how, if we’re getting into trouble financially, we can get ourselves back on track.

The FCC ESTHER Core Team has reviewed and considered all of the information from the More Holy Conversations that took place over the past few months.

We appreciate the thoughtful and heartfelt responses from this wonderful, diverse congregation. Based on input from those conversations and our own belief of what our Christian principles call us to do, the Core Team will
begin work in support of the Oaklawn School referendum. We believe Oaklawn students are not afforded the levels of opportunities and resources that are available to other children in the district. We invite you to join us in this effort.
More information on the referendum is available at

In addition, the Core Team will have a representative available in the Narthex after the February 5th service and after all services up to the election to provide you with information as well as alternatives and specific actions you can take if you are interested in supporting the referendum.
