There are many places in the life of the church where you can use your spiritual gifts to serve one another and the world. Below are brief descriptions of what our various "Ministry Groups" do.

Ministry Groups

Adult Education Ministry Group:

Provides opportunities for adult members and friends to share and learn together in faith. Makes opportunities available at different times throughout the week.

Benevolence Ministry Group:

Determines where to donate allocated church funds in our broader community and world. Selects projects, agencies, organizations to receive our special offerings.

Buildings and Grounds Ministry Group:

Oversees all maintenance and repair of our building and surrounding property.

Church School Ministry Group:

Works with Teaching and Learning Ministry Coordinator to provide a high quality Church School for our children and youth. Activities include helping to secure and support teachers, shepherds and rotation coordinators; evaluating curricula; helping to plan and coordinate special activities.

Fellowship Ministry Group:

Provides a variety of opportunities for fellowship among the members and friends of the church. Activities have included block party, Hanging of the Greens, Easter breakfast, game night, talent night?name a "fun" activity at church and you'll most likely find this group involved! Organizes interest groups: movies, books, scrapebooking, paddling, etc.

Finance Ministry Group:

Oversees the financial matters of the church, keeping the Ministry Council, Ministry Groups and the church at large regularly informed about the assets, liabilities, and current needs of the church.

Financial Stewardship Committee: Plans and carries out the annual stewardship campaign and also works to keep the concept of stewardship before the congregation throughout the year.

Music Ministry Group:

Supports the music staff and various choirs and looks for ways to encourage and enhance music in the life of the congregation.

New Member Development Ministry Group:

Seeks to bring new people into the fellowship of the church by encouraging our membership to invite and welcome newcomers, by making our building inviting and user friendly, through media advertising and other outreach activities.

Personnel Ministry Group:

Supports the staff of the church, meeting with each staff person regularly and addressing and making recommendations about such issues as compensation, benefits, and working conditions.

Social Concerns Ministry Group:

"Education-Action" ministry that offers ways to use the church's resources and its members in the wider community and world, encouraging and enabling people to be involved in direct ministry in the community. Activities include supporting Ecumenical Food Pantry, preparing and serving one meal a month at the Salvation Army, back-to-school project, Christmas gifts for needy families...

Worship Ministry Group:

Focuses on ways to enhance our worship experience and works closely with the Ministers. Responsible for recruitment, training, and oversight of ushers, scripture readers, and communion teams.

Youth Ministry Group:

Works closely with the T&L Ministry Coordinator to provide opportunities for growth, fellowship, worship, and service for our youth. Helps plan and fund-raise for mission trips.
